Based on designs I’ve seen posed for a watchman prop. I first tried following the designs I’d seen online, adding a lazy-susan bearing to allow a frictionless swivel the two crosses. I did however keep the 1/2″ straight pipe spinning in a 3/4″ Tee concept. The main problem with this design is that the motor mount is not centered beneath the offset lazy-susan bearing, and that means extra modification to keep the lower straight-pipe from either binding against the motor arm at the closest extreme, or popping out entirely at the farthest extreme. The design didn’t react well to having a heavy load up above.
So, I made up my own solution for version 2…
